Statement
As humans, nothing is more associated with life than the breathing of air. Air surrounds us, bathes us, filles us. It's the invisible Element of our world, the floating, shifting, unseen aspect thtat mysteriously binds all things. Interestingly, the ancient words for 'soul' and 'spirit' were all roots of words meaning 'breath'. In Latin: anima and spiritus; in Greek, psyche and pneuma; in Hebrew, ruach and in Sanskrit, atman. It's this sense of air, as a source of energt and life force, that most interests us at PLANET¡. And within this issue we explore this and other aspects of air in the articles and photo stories we've prepared, for this our Air Issue.
