Let's start at the beginning. Sometime late last summer on a tennis court in Forte dei Marmi (chic resort town on the Tuscan coast) four Wallpaper* staff decided that their equipment and attire wasn't quite cutting it on the clay. With one disappointed by the poor performance of his racquet, one irritated by the lack of built-in ball storage in her skirt, another annoyed by the uncomfortable cut of his trainers and the leader of the triupe worried about where they should eat lunch, an editorial idea was born. Having already produced one of the world's most respected magazines, a concept was devised by the time they polished off the calamari, a running order established over their penne and the title LINE registered over lattes. LINE is dedicated to covering sport, health, equipment, fashion and travel in a format never seen before on the newsstand. Like its cousin Wallpaper*, LINE is global, aimed squarely at both men and women and obsessed with providing its readers with a focussed view on the best equipment, destinations, treatments and industry trends. In warmer months our core activites will be cycling, golf, tennis, hiking, running, tanning and a host of aquatic pursuits. As the thermometer drops, we'll shift our agenda to skiing (in all its forms), snowboarding, a bit of skating and anything that gets out blood going indoors. With an international network of correspondants and coaches, LINE will also keeo a close eye on the business of sport.
